About Jenny & CICI Clothing

Modern, sophisticated, yet easy to wear pieces for busy women on the go

Jenny Yen’s love for making clothes started with a toy sewing machine given to her from her mother when she was 10 years old. In high school, she became fascinated with fashion when her brother Rob brought home Vogue and Elle magazines. She found herself enchanted with the high fashion models and designer clothes inside the glossy pages. After high school graduation, she left Vancouver to study fashion design at Ryerson University in Toronto. It was both an adventure and a challenge for this ambitious young lady. While in school, she worked part time as an assistant designer and illustrator for an independent fashion label, Amera Couture. After completing her 4-year fashion program and attaining a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree from Ryerson, she headed back to her hometown. Jenny boldly started her own independent clothing line working out of her parent’s basement, Hylas & Nymph. Her first collections were sold at local boutiques in Vancouver.

In 2006, Jenny created the CiCi brand for women and is known for its classic silhouettes, natural fibres, and immaculate fit. From concept to creation, Jenny is actively involved herself in the whole process; from selecting fabrics, sketching designs, drafting patterns, quality control, and incorporating customer feedback into the next season’s line. CiCi is produced in small batches of less than a hundred, making it a truly unique local product.

The contemporary women’s wear line has been found at retailers across Canada.

In 2009, on Valentines Day, she opened Two of Hearts Boutique with a business partner on trendy Main Street in Vancouver. In 2013, a second location was opened in the vibrant Kitsilano neighborhood. Over the years, Jenny has built a following of loyal customers and clientele making them very happy and stylish for over a decade!

Since mid July of 2023, Two of Hearts has evolved into a Fashion Boutique and Art Studio, now solely situated in Point Grey Village. Dedicated to providing a friendly place to shop, learn, and build community is at the heart of Jenny’s business.
